Skin rejuvenation combined: fractional laser treatment and daylight photodynamic therapy
How a fractional laser resurfacing and a daylight photodynamic therapy can complement one another within an overall medical concept – with an eye to both the appearance and the health of the skin.
Years of sun exposure leave their mark – on the skin's appearance as much as on its health. In selected cases it can make sense to combine a skin-rejuvenating measure and a measure oriented towards skin health within an overall medical concept.
Two components, one concept
A fractional laser resurfacing specifically stimulates the skin's renewal and refines its appearance. A daylight photodynamic therapy, in turn, uses a light-sensitising agent that is applied by a physician and subsequently activated with daylight.
Whether, in which order and at what interval such procedures can be combined is a purely medical decision, made after a thorough examination and consultation.
Care and consultation
With combined procedures in particular, a clear indication, a realistic assessment and a detailed consultation about the procedure, aftercare and possible risks take priority. This article serves general information purposes only.
